Helena Craft Beer Week is a partnership between local businesses, non-profits, breweries, distributors, and craft beer enthusiasts to celebrate and raise awareness for local craft beer brewed in Helena and across Montana.

Don’t Fence Me In Trail Race

RACE DAY SCHEDULE – PIONEER PARK

  • 6:30 a.m.– 30k packet pickup begins
  • 7:30 a.m. – 30k run begins
  • 8 a.m. to 15 minutes before your race start time – Packet pick-up and late registration for 12k, 5k, and 5k dog walk at Pioneer Park
  • 10 a.m. – 12k run and walk begins
  • 10:30 a.m. – 5k run and walk begins
  • 10:30 a.m. – Open Space Fair begins
  • 10:45 a.m. – 5k dog walk begins
  • An awards ceremony will take place around noon
  • 12:30 p.m. – DFMI after-party at the Blackfoot River Brewing Co.

Celebrate the first day of Helena Craft Beer Week at Blackfoot River Brewing Company as they host the Don’t Fence Me In (DFMI) After Party, the Prickly Pear Land Trust’s (PPLT) annual trail race.

After the awards ceremony for the Prickly Pear Land Trust’s Don’t Fence Me In Race, join us for a special after-party at the Blackfoot River Brewing Company. CWG Architects and Blackfoot River Brewing Company have teamed up for the third Community Partnership to support PPLT and DFMI. The Blackfoot team will be brewing the legendary “E-Trail” beer and it will be released at this post-race event at 12:30 p.m. Join us for the ceremonial serving of the first brew, music, door prizes, and food vendors.

Back for the second year in a row! Come learn to build and maintain your very own kegerator, sponsored by the Helena Tourism Business Improvement District, with McDantim, General Distributing and Blackfoot River Brewing Co. Space is limited and you must sign up in advance for this free event. Registration is open now at https://kegerator2017.eventbrite.com/ . The kegerator built during the class will then be raffled off in support of Helena’s Trail Rider program. The drawing will be held on Friday, May 19 at Ales for Trails. In addition to the kegerator, the Grand Prize will also includes a five gallon keg from each of Helena’s three breweries. No need to be present, but if you’re the lucky winner you’ll be responsible for kegerator transport. The funds raised in this raffle will help support Helena’s Trail Rider shuttle program. Must be 21 and a Montana resident to win.

Bike Helena is excited to announce that we will be hosting a Spring Shuttle Fest for the first year ever on May 19, 20 and 21, 2017. The Bike Helena Spring Shuttle Fest will be in conjunction with Helena Craft Beer Week and Ales for Trails (be sure to get your tickets ASAP for this event) on May 19th. Helena can’t wait to serve up great trails and great brews. A suggested donation of $10 will help fund the Trail Rider Program.  Donations of cash or check can be made on the Trail Rider shuttle.

Helena Ales for Trails strives to contribute to the community of Helena by raising funds for the Helena trail system. 2017’s festival will give all proceeds to the Peaks to Creek Trail, a trail that will connect Centennial Trail to Fort Harrison. We hope to raise the final $20,000 to complete this trail in the summer of 2017.
